Anh Vien was recruited by 20 universities in the US.
About 20 universities in the US have invited swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien to study and coach Dang Anh Tuan wants to orient his young student to become a student in sports medicine.

Mr. Dinh Viet Hung, General Secretary of the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association, said: "While undergoing long-term training in the US, Anh Vien is studying culture through a distance education program with most of the subjects of high school level in Vietnam.
After returning home to take the 12th grade graduation exam and passing, Vien is now still actively studying English so that she can study at a university in the US. Currently, there are about 20 universities that want to invite Vien to be a student. Some schools have even committed to providing full scholarships.
Vien has not officially decided which school to choose and when to go to school because he is busy training to prepare for important tournaments in the future. But certainly, the association will create all conditions for Vien to become an athlete who is both good at his job and has a solid knowledge base, so that he can later live a stable life and earn a living with a suitable career. Having knowledge will help him not be disappointed when he steps out into the world.
Coach Dang Anh Tuan emphasized: “Vien has, is, and will continue to live in an extremely harsh professional environment. Although he does not have his own personal website, it does not mean that Vien does not know anything about the life around him. Compared to the awareness of his peers, Vien is not inferior.”
Regarding Vien's education, Mr. Tuan is guiding her to study either business or sports medicine if Vien really likes it, in response to the invitations from many universities in the US. In subjects, Vien's strengths are biology and chemistry, and math is okay, but she is a bit weak in the field of advanced math. "Because Vien likes biology, chemistry, and math, I think Vien studying sports medicine might be better than other majors."
At the Speedo Sectionals 2017, which took place from March 30 to April 2 in Indianapolis (USA), Anh Vien won 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal. She also participated in a number of other smaller tournaments before competing in the World Swimming Championships in July in Hungary. |
