Anh Vien dominates the national swimming championship
On the first day of competition, Vietnam's number one swimmer won three gold medals at the national swimming championship taking place in Da Nang.
The tournament opened yesterday, October 15, with 105 athletes from 17 delegations nationwide competing for 40 sets of medals. Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, after finishing the World Military Swimming Championship, was able to compete in the Army uniform. This was the first time she returned to the national swimming championship after many years of absence due to training abroad.

With her outstanding class and level, Anh Vien is predicted to dominate the tournament. And on the competition day yesterday, this swimmer finished first in all three events she participated in: 200m backstroke (2 minutes 17 seconds 15, far behind her own record of 2 minutes 12 seconds 25), gold medal in 200m medley (2 minutes 17 seconds 00) and the third gold medal was the 4x100m relay.
Besides Anh Vien, famous swimmers such as Hoang Quy Phuoc (Da Nang) and Tran Duy Khoi (HCMC) also brought home gold medals for their team.
At the end of the first day, Ho Chi Minh City led with three gold medals and three silver medals. Anh Vien's Army team ranked second with three gold medals and two silver medals. Long An ranked third with one gold medal, two silver medals and three bronze medals.
The tournament will end on October 19. Anh Vien will then travel to Tokyo (Japan) to attend the sixth stage of the FINA World Cup, the seventh stage in Doha (Qatar) and the eighth stage in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
