However, British Prime Minister Theresa May also added that authorities would only release the identities of the three attackers "when the investigation allows," CNN reported. According to police, 11 people were arrested in a series of raids following the incident.
Three attackers rented a van on the night of June 3 and plowed into pedestrians on London Bridge in the British capital. They then headed to nearby Borough Market, got out of the vehicle and stabbed many people. The incident left 7 people dead and 48 injured. British police opened fire and killed the three attackers just 8 minutes after receiving the first call.
The attack was the third in Britain in less than three months and came just days before the UK elections. The self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the attack but did not provide any evidence.
