Anonymous shuts down ISIS websites.
The hacker group Anonymous claims to have destroyed more than 1,000 websites, accounts, and emails related to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) terrorist group in January since declaring war on the jihadists after the Charlie Hebdo massacre.

In the newly released video, this notorious hacking group stated that they had taken down numerous websites and personal accounts belonging to ISIS, and warned, "There is no safe haven for ISIS in a cyber confrontation. Please remember that those who claim to be building an Islamic state do not deserve to be called true Muslims. We will hunt you down, shut down your websites, and expose your vile crimes."
This hacking group also provided a list of hundreds of Twitter accounts used by jihadist fighters. They also revealed 12 email addresses and Facebook accounts frequently used in communication with terrorist groups.
Following the Charlie Hebdo massacre, the anonymous hacker group Anonymous declared war on ISIS. The masked hackers explained their actions: “Even freedom of speech is now under attack. It’s time for us to act. We will fight whenever and wherever those who oppose freedom of speech appear.” After declaring war, the hacker group began its operation, taking down the first ISIS website on January 12th.
