Anthony Taylor to referee FA Cup final
Anthony Taylor, 38 years old, has just been appointed by the English Football Association as the main referee for the FA Cup final between Arsenal and Chelsea on May 27.
"The first feeling after I received the call from the FA was that I was very happy, very excited. I feel very honored to be appointed as the main referee of the upcoming final," said Taylor.
The Arsenal - Chelsea match at Wembley on May 27 is only the second time in his career that Taylor has been selected to officiate an FA Cup final, after he was the fourth referee in the 2013 final.

“This has been a lifelong dream of mine in my 20-odd years of refereeing. For me, officiating in the FA Cup final is the pinnacle of my domestic career. Most football fans dream of somehow being involved in an FA Cup final. Not just players, every referee dreams of being involved in an FA Cup final,” Taylor added.
Taylor has previously refereed a League Cup final and a Community Shield match.
But earlier last month, the Manchester referee caused controversy when he awarded Burnley a penalty in their match against Swansea, even though Burnley striker Sam Vokes had handled the ball in the opposition penalty area.
