Apple prepares to launch cutting-edge technology for iPhone
Apple has always been at the forefront of technological innovation, and this time, the 'Apple' is preparing to bring a big step forward for iPhone lovers with under-screen Face ID technology.
Tech giant Apple has always been a pioneer in technological innovation, and one of the most anticipated improvements is the under-screen Face ID technology.
This technology promises to bring a more seamless design, towards a truly edge-to-edge screen, optimizing display space and providing a more intuitive experience.

The Notch or Dynamic Island on current iPhone models takes up some of the display area, reducing the full-screen viewing experience. Removing them will result in a completely flat and seamless screen, creating a breakthrough in design.
Under-screen Face ID technology delayed until 2026
In April 2023, Ross Young, a well-known analyst in the display industry, revealed that Apple plans to bring Face ID under the screen to the iPhone 17 Pro models.
However, in May 2024, he said that the plan had been delayed to 2026. This means that under-screen Face ID will likely debut on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, instead of the iPhone 17 Pro as originally planned.
This information was also confirmed by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman in the latest Power On newsletter. Gurman predicted that by 2026 or 2027, Apple will continue to improve the design of the iPhone Pro models with a smaller Dynamic Island, thanks to moving many internal components below the screen.
What will the iPhone 18 Pro screen design be like?
Although Face ID may be integrated under the screen, according to experts, the iPhone 18 Pro will most likely still have a pinhole on the screen to accommodate the front camera.
This design is quite similar to current high-end Android smartphones such as Google Pixel 9 or Samsung Galaxy S25. Keeping the camera hole may be because Apple wants to ensure the quality of selfie photos, when the under-screen camera technology has not yet achieved the expected quality.
Ross Young previously predicted that Apple was moving toward a true all-screen design with both Face ID and the front camera placed under the display.
If this becomes true, the iPhone will achieve the dream of perfect design that former Apple design chief Jony Ive once cherished. This could be a major turning point in the smartphone industry, bringing an unlimited visual experience to users.
Although Apple has not officially confirmed this information, predictions from reputable experts show that Face ID under the screen is closer than ever. Will the iPhone 18 Pro be the first iPhone line to own this technology? Let's wait for official information from Apple in the near future.
