Apple is preparing to launch cutting-edge technology for the iPhone.
Apple has always been at the forefront of technological innovation, and this time, the tech giant is preparing to bring a major leap forward for iPhone enthusiasts with under-display Face ID technology.
The tech giant Apple has always been a pioneer in technological innovation, and one of the most anticipated improvements is the under-display Face ID technology.
This technology promises to deliver a more seamless design, moving towards a truly bezel-less screen, optimizing display space and providing a more intuitive experience.

The notch or dynamic island on current iPhone models takes up a portion of the display area, reducing the full-screen viewing experience. Removing them would result in a completely flat and seamless screen, a breakthrough in design.
Under-display Face ID technology has been delayed until 2026.
In April 2023, Ross Young, a prominent analyst in the display industry, revealed that Apple planned to bring under-display Face ID to the iPhone 17 Pro models.
However, in May 2024, he stated that this plan had been delayed until 2026. This means that under-display Face ID may debut on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, instead of the iPhone 17 Pro as originally planned.
This information was also confirmed by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman in his latest Power On report. Gurman predicts that by 2026 or 2027, Apple will continue to improve the design of the iPhone Pro models with a smaller Dynamic Island, thanks to moving many internal components under the screen.
What will the iPhone 18 Pro screen design look like?
Although Face ID may be integrated under the screen, experts believe the iPhone 18 Pro will most likely still have a punch-hole cutout on the screen to house the front camera.
This design is quite similar to current high-end Android smartphones like the Google Pixel 9 or Samsung Galaxy S25. Retaining the camera hole may be Apple's way of ensuring selfie image quality, as under-display camera technology hasn't yet reached the expected quality.
Previously, Ross Young predicted that Apple was moving towards a truly full-screen design with both Face ID and the front camera placed under the display.
If this becomes a reality, the iPhone will achieve the perfect design dream that former Apple design director Jony Ive once envisioned. This could be a major turning point in the smartphone industry, offering users an unlimited visual experience.
Although Apple hasn't officially confirmed this information, predictions from reputable experts suggest that under-display Face ID is closer than ever. Will the iPhone 18 Pro be the first iPhone to feature this technology? Let's wait for official information from Apple in the near future.
