Apple will use AI to help iPhone save battery
Apple is said to be developing an AI-powered battery management feature for iOS 19 that uses real-world data from the device to analyze and optimize app performance, thereby helping to extend battery life and improve user experience.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is developing a new battery management feature on iOS 19, using AI to optimize power consumption based on each user's actual usage habits.
This feature is expected to help extend battery life and improve device performance, especially in the context of increasingly thin iPhone models and smaller batteries.

Specifically, this tool will collect data from the device to identify usage trends and make accurate predictions about when to limit the operation of certain applications or features to save battery.
This is a similar step to the smart power management feature (Adaptive Battery) on Android, using machine learning technology that Google deployed since 2018, allowing to determine which applications should be restricted in background mode and prioritize frequently used applications.
In addition, iOS 19 is also expected to add a charging indicator right on the lock screen, indicating the exact time it takes to fully charge the device, a practical feature for busy users.
This AI battery management feature is expected to launch with the iPhone 17, which is rumored to be Apple's thinnest phone ever.
With battery capacity limited by thin and light designs, power optimization becomes more important than ever.
However, Bloomberg says the tool won't be exclusive to the iPhone 17, but will be available on all devices that support iOS 19.
Apple is expected to introduce iOS 19 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, before officially releasing it in September.
This update is also expected to bring an interface overhaul, marking the next major shift for the iOS operating system.
