Argentina: Two sailors luckily reach shore before submarine goes missing
Two crew members of the Argentine submarine San Juan went ashore shortly before the ship went missing, Clarin newspaper reported, citing Argentine Navy representative Enrique Balbi.

One sailor was given leave to care for his mother in hospital, the spokesman said. The second was allowed to leave the ship at the last minute before it set sail - he had been asking the ship's commander for days to go ashore to complete the paperwork for a new home. The sailor's mother saidagain in an interview with the newspaper.
Previously, there was information that the missing submarine San Juan had 44 people on board, not just 37 sailors as required, the 7 extra people were not submarine sailors.
Among them were two swimmers from the Argentine Navy's Buzos Tacticos special forces unit and an officer of the Naval Intelligence Service.
The submarine stopped communicating on November 15. In its last communication, the crew reported a problem on board. The Argentine Navy also reported an explosion possibly related to the San Juan's disappearance.
