Sharing first prize with the host team of the Russian Federation, the Vietnam People's Navy team competed excellently, fiercely, and closely matched the score with the other team in the "Struggle to protect the ship's vitality" event.
According to the draw, the host team was the first team to compete. Therefore, the pressure was very high for the Vietnamese players competing in this event for the first time. The pressure increased after you completed the competition with a high result, handling the situation of the holes in only about 47.84 seconds, the water level was 10.4cm.
But with the highest determination, flexibility, proficiency in skills, positions, coordination and good cooperation, the Vietnamese players made the most of every second to handle the situation, completing the test better than expected.

In a narrow competition room with an area of about 6m2(2m wide, 3m long) simulates the inside of a warship operating at sea and encountering an accident with random holes appearing, water rushing in with great pressure, causing the ship to flood. When the signal started to sound, 5 holes in the competition compartment suddenly sprayed water in an unordered manner, sometimes on the wall, sometimes at the bottom of the compartment, sometimes on the surface above the competition compartment. The water sprayed out in torrents, white, the contestants could not see each other's faces clearly.
In that challenging space, the Vietnamese players calmly and quickly judged the location of the water spraying from the holes, coordinated to bring steel jacks weighing tens of kilograms and other equipment to cover the holes that were spraying water with very strong pressure, at 3kgf/cm.2.
The Vietnamese team completed the test in 48.24 seconds, with a water level of 10.2cm. Although the result was lower than the other team, our team surpassed the other team in the water level in the competition compartment. The final result of the two teams was equal at 38 points, both achieving the first prize.

Play on par with the home team
On the same day, at the Pacific Fleet's Underwater Sports Training Center, a fierce and intense competition took place between the Vietnam People's Navy Team and the Russian Navy Team in the Use of Rescue Vehicles - the final competition of the "Sea Cup" competition.
According to the competition regulations, each team of 5 competitors, after the whistle sounds, opens the bag and puts on the rescue suit, performs the required operations, then dives into the water and swims towards the life buoy at a distance of 25m. Then the whole team gets on the buoy, fixes the position, continues to use the oars and hands to stir the water to bring the boat back to shore. The team that performs the operations correctly, does not make mistakes and brings the buoy to the finish line in the shortest time will win.
Before the contestants perform the test, the referee team re-checks all rescue costumes, which are then neatly folded and put into bags according to regulations.

According to the results of the draw, the Rescue Team of the Vietnam People's Navy Team competed first. Immediately after the Russian referee gave the order, the Vietnamese players quickly opened their bags, took out orange-yellow rescue suits with a soft foam exterior and a waterproof interior, which were both thick, weighed tens of kilograms, and oversized, and put them on.
Next, the players were like brave "swimmers" diving into the water to swim towards the rescue boat. Just over a minute from the start, the first player of the Vietnam People's Navy Team swam to the rescue boat, then one by one all 5 players fixed their positions on the boat, coordinated rhythmically, following the call using the oars and hands to splash water to create a combined, synchronized force to bring the buoy to shore as quickly as possible.
According to the preliminary results of the referee team, the Rescue Team of the Vietnam Navy and the Russian Federation Navy have equal achievements.
Evaluating the results of the last two competitions of the "Sea Cup", Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Dong - Deputy Brigade Commander, Chief of Staff of Brigade 162, Region 4 affirmed: Competing with the experienced host team of the Russian Federation is a huge challenge. However, our teams have competed excellently, demonstrating their capacity, level, and skills that are not inferior, closely competing with the other team's achievements. That has accurately reflected the training results of the unit.
The official results of the two competitions will be announced after the referees' meeting on August 28.
Second place in the Maritime Skills competition
According to the results of the referee meeting on August 27, the Vietnam People's Navy Team finished second in the Maritime Skills competition, behind the host team, the Russian Federation, and above the Chinese Team.
Immediately after the end of the competition, the Vietnam People's Navy's Maritime Skills Team received high praise from the Russian referee on the monitoring ship, for performing well in the competition despite not being provided with meteorological and hydrological conditions, especially wind and current factors in the strange sea area of Amurskiy Bay. These are important factors that greatly determine the success of the competition.

In the test, Captain of Ship 016 - Quang Trung, Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Anh must maneuver the ship to anchor at the buoy on the direction registered with the referee at 345 degrees and ensure that after tying the buoy, the ship is stable on this direction, with an amplitude of oscillation of no more than 5 degrees. The registered direction of the ship is selected based on the hydrometeorological conditions in the competition area.
According to the referee's watch on Ship 016, the test ended in 25 minutes and 30 seconds, which was just over half of the total 40-minute time allowed for the entire test. Ship 016, after maneuvering to dock with the buoy, stood still in a firm and stable position with the steering line locked tightly, the deviation from the registered direction accurate to the degree. The test was performed well in terms of both time and stability in the direction of the ship. This was a better achievement than when the team practiced domestically.
Previously, the Vietnam People's Navy team ranked first in the AK176 ship gun shooting competition, and second in the 14.5mm machine gun drifting mine target sighting competition (ranked after the Russian Federation Navy team and above the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy team).
The "Sea Cup" competition is held at two locations: the sea area of Vladivostok City, Russian Federation and the Caspian Sea (hosted by Iran).
