Arsenal sign record deal for Lacazette

On the night of July 5, Arsenal completed their first "blockbuster" deal when they spent a record £46.5 million to recruit striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.

Alexandre Lacazette, 26, has scored 129 goals in 275 games for Lyon since breaking into the first team in 2009. Last season, Lacazette was the second-highest scorer in Ligue 1 with 28 goals in 30 games. Lacazette's contract with Arsenal is for 5 years.

Speaking to the media after completing his contract with Arsenal, Lacazette said: “Arsenal is the best club in England so I really wanted to come here. Since I was a child, I dreamed of playing for Arsenal. I like the history of the club and the way coach Wenger works. At Arsenal there are many French players, so I think I will integrate easily.”
