Arsenal clear Nketiah, focus on target Mikel Merino
The Gunners made headlines when they sold striker Eddie Nketiah to Marseille and targeted Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino to strengthen their midfield.
Arsenal part ways with Nketiah
After a long period of speculation, the transfer of Eddie Nketiah to Marseille has been officially decided.

The England striker will leave Emirates to join the French side on loan with an option to buy next summer, a decision that is not too surprising as Nketiah is no longer in coach Mikel Arteta's plans.
Selling Nketiah would help Arsenal earn a significant amount of money, thereby creating conditions for the team to recruit other transfer targets. With Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz already present, Nketiah's playing opportunities at Arsenal are very limited. Therefore, moving to Marseille would give this player more opportunities to show himself.
Mikel Merino - Arsenal's top target
As well as selling Nketiah, Arsenal are also actively pursuing Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino. The Spaniard is considered one of La Liga's top defensive midfielders and would be a quality addition to the Gunners' midfield.

The signing of Mikel Merino is part of Arsenal's plan to strengthen their midfield. After selling Emile Smith Rowe, the Gunners needed a player who could intercept, distribute the ball well and support the attack. Mikel Merino perfectly meets these requirements.
Arsenal had a productive transfer window
With the above moves, it can be seen that Arsenal is having a quite effective transfer period. Selling players that are no longer in the plan and recruiting quality players will help the team strengthen the squad and compete in the highest arenas.
