Le Van Cong entered the competition with confidence and was the one who registered the highest weight, 178kg in the first attempt, among the 5 athletes participating in the competition. And also in the first attempt, Le Van Cong completed his performance excellently, getting closer to the gold medal, while the second place, Mustafa Salman Radhi of Iraq, only achieved a weight of 168kg.
In the second attempt, the coaching staff decided to register a weight of 181.5kg with the hope that this 30-year-old athlete will surpass the world record (181kg) set by Nigerian athlete Yakubu Adesokan at the world championship in April in Dubai.

Not only that, the achievement of 1 minute 50 seconds 91 also helped Thanh Trung set a new Asian record in this event.
In addition, in the afternoon competition, the disabled swimming team also won 3 more silver medals thanks to Vo Thanh Tung in the 200m freestyle men's category S5 (3 minutes 2 seconds 24), Do Thanh Hai in the 100m breaststroke men's category SB5 (1 minute 43 seconds 36), Le Tien Dat in the 100m breaststroke men's category SB6 (1 minute 38 seconds 89) and 1 bronze medal thanks to Vo Huynh Anh Khoa in the 50m freestyle men's category S9 (27 seconds 53).
