- After playing the main role in “Ghost Village 10 Years Later”, you have almost disappeared from the screen. Why is that?

- I focus on media work and collaborating with artists in the field of music production, so I don't have time to take on long-term film projects. For me, acting is a destiny, I will definitely not give it up. If I have time and opportunity, I am ready to return to the screen.

I have just participated in a Tet comedy film directed by Binh Trong. In the near future, if everything goes well, I will most likely participate in a film project in cooperation with a foreign country. At that time, I really hope to receive everyone's attention and support.

- Art is timely. Do you think you missed many opportunities even though your role as At in "Ma Lang" and "Lang Ma 10 Nam Sau" both received positive feedback?

- I also have regrets, but in life, everyone has a different path. I think my current job will complement my acting career a lot. I just temporarily put it aside to accumulate energy for the future.

- Hong Dang, Viet Anh, Hoang Thuy Linh – your classmates in the acting training class all have established their positions in the arts. Does the success of your friends make you sad?

- I, Hong Dang, Viet Anh and Hoang Thuy Linh are all students of the first course of the actor training class organized by the Vietnam Film Production Center, Vietnam Television. While studying, I was lucky to be chosen by director Nguyen Huu Phan to play the role of At in the movie Ma Lang.

My friends are successful in acting because they invest. I am different, I had a period of distraction so I didn't have many roles. When I come back next time, I hope I will be more formidable than before (laughs).

- "Ma Lang" has been on air for 10 years, a long enough time for you to look back on your role. At that time, how did you get into character so that viewers could hate At so much that they wanted to turn off the TV?

- Actually, At's personality in Ma Lang has many similarities with me in real life. That helps me get into character better. At is a determined person, who will do anything to achieve his goals. I am also a determined person, and will do everything to the end. Of course, I do not do everything with all the schemes and tricks like At.

Want singer's wife to have no scandal

- How did the popularity of the role of At help you "capture" a Sao Mai singer?

- I met Phuong Thuy at a music event. At that time, Thuy expressed her wish to compete in Sao Mai, musician Hong Quang invited me to accompany Thuy. After that time, we developed feelings for each other.

The role of At left a bad impression on the audience. But I think the popularity of the role also helped me a lot in "winning over" her. When I entered a place, people recognized and welcomed me. I think that also gave Thuy more motivation to choose me instead of another man (laughs).

Phung Cuong's wife is Phuong Thuy - the third prize winner of Sao Mai 2013 in folk music. The female singer has just released the MV "Cinderella's Love Story".

- You and your husband are both artists, so it is difficult to avoid business trips away from home. How do you sympathize with each other?

- We sympathize with each other because we both work in the arts. Recently, when Thuy went on a long tour in the South, we rarely saw each other but I did not complain. On the contrary, when I went on a business trip far away, Thuy did not complain. We are young and our careers are very important.

- In case of conflict, how do you and your husband resolve it?

- Every family has conflicts, misunderstandings, and back and forth. But the important thing is that we get along very well. Tensions may arise, but we will not let rude, derogatory, or insulting words exist.

If it gets too tense, both of us will be quiet and quietly go out to cool down our anger. I believe that only by respecting each other can things be resolved.

- Star Mai Phuong Thuy has just released the MV "Cinderella's Love Story" which you directed. Working with your wife, do you find it more difficult than collaborating with other artists?

- I think it is more difficult because this is Thuy's first MV. When I make an MV for singer Trong Tan - a person with a position and experience in the profession, I will have more freedom. When working with my wife, I have to directly explain my intentions so that my wife can have the best music product.

- What kind of singer image will you direct your wife to in the future?

- The image I want my wife to have is a singer without scandals. My wife may become famous late, but she will go through her artistic products, passion and personality instead of the surrounding noise.
