Atletico disappointed when held to a draw by a third-tier team

Coach Simeone and his team could only get a 1-1 draw with Elche in the first leg of the King's Cup round of 32.

Fielding a squad that included many stars playing in La Liga, Atletico disappointed when they only scored one goal against Elche. The author of the goal for the away team was striker Thomas, with a header from a cross in the 16th minute by Jose Gimenez.
