Atletico paid a heavy price after their 4-0 victory over Real Madrid when their playmaker Koke suffered a hamstring injury and will be out of action for about a month.
On the evening of February 7th, in a match belonging to the 22nd round of La Liga, Atletico Madrid brilliantly thrashed Real Madrid with a score of 4-0. However, the joy of victory for the home team at Vicente Calderon was not complete as Koke suffered an injury.
In this match, the Spanish midfielder suffered a hamstring injury and had to leave the field in the 10th minute, making way for his younger teammate Saul Niguez. According to the initial diagnosis of the doctors, Koke has a torn hamstring and will be out of action for about a month.

Koke has a huge influence on Atletico Madrid's playing style. Therefore, an injury to the Spanish midfielder would give coach Diego Simeone and the team's fans reason to worry.
If Koke is sidelined for a full month, Atletico Madrid's "maestro" will miss matches against Celta Vigo, Almeria, Sevilla, Valencia (La Liga) and Leverkusen (Champions League).
Besides Koke's injury, in the match against Real, center-back Diego Godin also suffered a nose injury after a collision with Khedira. Fortunately for Atletico, the Uruguayan defender will not require surgery.
Following their 4-0 victory over Real Madrid, Atletico have accumulated 50 points after 22 rounds. Currently, coach Diego Simeone's team has narrowed the gap with league leaders Real Madrid to just 4 points.
