Speaking to reporters in Canberra after attending the 24th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Peru, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull affirmed that other countries including Australia still expect the agreement to be approved.
"We, like the other 11 TPP countries, believe that this trade agreement is an important strategic commitment for the United States but the new US administration must make the decision. The other 11 partners strongly support the adoption of this agreement and its entry into force," Mr Turnbull said.
Prime Minister Turnbull affirmed that Australia will maintain its stance of supporting the TPP because this agreement is clearly beneficial to Australia./.
