90-year-old woman climbs scaffolding to paint thousand-dollar mural
Starting from free paintings to decorate a small village, Ms. Agnes (Czech Republic) became a famous artist throughout the country.
Agnes Muffarkova is a resident of Louka, Moravia, Czech Republic. She became famous 40 years ago when she started turning the window frames of all the houses in the village into works of art. Her intricate watercolor designs are inspired by traditional Moravian art.

"I simply love to draw and want to make my place more beautiful and lively. I have never thought of myself as a talented artist or a famous person. Age is just a number to me," said Agnes.
Ms. Agnes said this passion was passed on to her by a colleague named Monakova. At that time, she worked in a factory specializing in producing clothes, curtains, tablecloths...
Agnes’s free works were warmly welcomed by the local people as soon as they appeared. Her reputation spread far and wide, and her name became known throughout the country. Some people came from hundreds of kilometers away to bring her home to decorate their homes, paying up to 1,000 USD (about 23 million VND) for 4 windows.

The floral theme is an idea that appears in most of her works.
"Even though she is one of the oldest people in the village, her hands still produce graceful strokes. You can see that each petal or leaf is as neat as if copied from a painting," an excited villager shared.
Agnes sometimes finds it difficult to paint because of her age, especially during the winter, but that doesn't stop her from continuing her work. Currently, she still spends 10 days a month creating murals when commissioned.

"I can't imagine a life without work. So in addition to painting walls, I also take care of my fruit garden. That makes me healthy and extremely happy," said Agnes.
