Juventus will be bitterly disappointed by Atletico's signature move.

Reigning Serie A champions Juventus were completely helpless against Atletico's frustrating style of play and suffered a 0-1 defeat at the Vicente Calderon stadium.

The only goal of the match was scored by Arda Turan in the 75th minute. The Turkish midfielder tapped the ball in from close range after a precise cross from Juanfran on the right wing. Earlier, Atletico had two penalty opportunities when Vidal and Caceres handled the ball inside Juventus' penalty area.

The victory against Juventus puts Atletico back in the race for a place in the round of 16. The defending runners-up now have three points, the same as their rivals in Group A: Juventus, Malmo, and Olympiakos. Coach Max Allegri deployed Tevez wide as an attacking midfielder to stretch Atletico's defense, but the Argentine star's efforts did not improve Juventus's game. Striker Llorente was completely ineffective due to a lack of support from his teammates. Juventus' most dangerous opportunity came from an Atletico defender with a clearance that hit the post.

Juventus were unable to attack effectively, but they compensated by defending well against Atletico's offensive moves.
