On September 23, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan signed Notice No. 317 on the exercise of the powers of President with Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.
This implementation is based on the Constitution, the 2014 Law on Organization of the National Assembly and the Politburo's Conclusion on assigning a Party Central Committee member to hold the position of President, the Notice stated.
Accordingly, Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh (Vice President) will hold the position of President until the National Assembly elects a new President.

Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh (59 years old, from Quang Nam) has a Master's degree in Party Building, a Bachelor's degree in History, and a Bachelor's degree in Law. On April 8, 2016, with 91% of the votes in favor, she was elected Vice President.
Previously, she held the position of Deputy Chief of the Central Party Office, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Long Province, 13th term, Member of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee. She also held positions such as Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union, Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee. She was a National Assembly delegate in the 11th and 13th terms.
