Grandmother saves 4-year-old granddaughter from rapist
Seeing the child playing alone without her mother, the man had an animalistic urge to control and harm her.
On December 26, Thanh Hoa provincial police detained suspect Le Van Son (39 years old, living in Kim Tan town, Thach Thanh district) to investigate the act of child rape.
According to authorities, at around 1pm on December 24, Mrs. Bui (58 years old, Thanh Truc commune, Thach Thanh district) was working in the garden when she heard her 4-year-old granddaughter screaming. Running into the house, she discovered Son was committing a depraved act with the girl, so she rushed in to stop him and called for help from people nearby. The local police then arrived to take statements and arrest the suspect.
According to Mrs. Bui, for over a year now, Son has accepted her and her husband as his adoptive parents. Recently, he has often come to visit, drink alcohol, and sleep over. They also consider Son as their own child, so they are not on guard.
The girl lived with her grandparents after her parents divorced and her mother went to the South to make a living.
