Ms. Nguyen Thanh Phuong has not received any salary for 5 consecutive years.
In addition to Ms. Phuong, 5 other members of the Board of Directors of Ban Viet Securities also proposed not to allocate the operating fund of the Board of Directors.
According to the annual general meeting of shareholders documents, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Phuong - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Ban Viet Securities Joint Stock Company (VCSC) and all members did not receive remuneration in 2018. This is the 5th consecutive year that the company with the leading foreign brokerage market share has proposed not to allocate funds for the Board of Directors' operations.
Instead, VCSC submitted to shareholders for approval the 2017 bonus plan for the Board of Directors at 8% of the pre-tax profit realized of 680 billion VND.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, born in 1980, has been the Chairwoman of VCSC since the company was founded 11 years ago. Before listing on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, Ms. Phuong reduced her ownership ratio here from 8.97% to 4.84%, equivalent to 5 million shares.
VCSC targets this year’s net revenue from brokerage, securities investment, capital trading, etc. to reach VND1,715 billion, up 11% year-on-year. Pre-tax profit also grew by double digits, surpassing VND1,000 billion for the first time.
The company plans to pay a 15% dividend this year, equivalent to VND1,500 per share, and issue 42 million shares to existing shareholders to increase its charter capital to VND1,620 billion.
When the stock market launched derivatives products in August 2017, VCSC was one of the first companies qualified to be a broker. The number of transactions was not large but it still contributed to VCSC's brokerage revenue growing 40% compared to the previous year.
In addition, the company also conducted many private offering and listing consulting transactions for large enterprises such as Vietjet, VPBank; and equitization consulting for a series of "blockbusters" in the electricity and oil and gas industry such as PV Power, PVN Genco3, PVOil, etc.
