Good news from the Vietnamese taekwondo team participating in the World Championships in Aguascalientes (Mexico): the trio of female martial artists Chau Tuyet Van, Nguyen Thi Le Kim, and Nguyen Thuy Xuan Linh have successfully defended their title in the women's team standard poomsae event.

The trio of Tuyet Van, Le Kim, and Xuan Thuy did not disappoint the coaching staff on their opening day, delivering an outstanding performance that convinced the judges to award them the highest scores, defeating the teams from Taiwan and Türkiye to win the gold medal.

Chau Tuyet Van, along with Nguyen Thi Le Kim and Nguyen Thuy Xuan Linh, excellently won the gold medal in Taekwondo.

For Chau Tuyet Van personally, this is her fourth world gold medal in the women's team kata event, following her wins in 2010, 2011, and 2013.

Besides the gold medal in the women's standard team poomsae event for the U30 age group, the Vietnamese delegation also won 1 silver and 3 bronze medals. Specifically, the U17 mixed doubles pair Nguyen Thi Mong Quynh and Nguyen Dinh Khoi won the silver medal in the creative poomsae event, while Nguyen Thi Kim Ha (women's individual poomsae U14), Lien Thi Tuyet Mai - Tong Nguyen Bao (mixed doubles standard poomsae U30), and Ngo Thi Thuy Dung (women's individual creative poomsae over 17 years old) helped the Vietnamese delegation win 3 more bronze medals.

The 9th World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships 2014 took place in Aguascalientes (Mexico) from October 30th to November 4th. Vietnam participated with 29 martial artists, competing in 24 out of 38 events with the goal of winning 3 gold medals and defending the runner-up title achieved at the 2013 championships (held in Bali, Indonesia).
