Three Vietnamese films to participate in Cannes Film Festival 2017

Coming to the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, Vietnamese cinema also has two other film projects, Culi never cries and Taste, selected to participate in the Cinefondation's Atelier category, where the jury will select outstanding art cinema projects from many regions around the world to support financially and the production process.
"The Coolie Never Cries" is the debut feature film by director Pham Ngoc Lan (31 years old), telling the story of a Vietnamese wife who traveled to Europe to bring back the body of her husband, a zoo security guard. The zoo went bankrupt, with only one coolie left.
"Vị" is the first feature film project of young director Le Bao (27 years old). This project was awarded the Most Promising Project in the Southeast Asian Film Lab category at the Singapore International Film Festival. The film revolves around an unemployed Nigerian football player trying to make a living in Ho Chi Minh City.
