Three young men who beat female flight attendant were prosecuted
Authorities said they will take legal action against the group of young men who assaulted the woman.
On the evening of November 25, Colonel Khuong Duy Oanh - Deputy Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that the Investigation Police Agency of Tho Xuan District Police had just issued a decision to prosecute three suspects Pham Huu An, Le Van Nhi and Le Trung Dung to investigate the act of disturbing public order.
"After initiating a case and prosecuting the defendant, the police will take further measures in accordance with the law," said Colonel Oanh.
After the passengers completed the check-in procedures, three young men asked airline employee Le Thi Giang to take a photo in the departure hall area. The group then continued to request to take a photo with the female employee, but Ms. Giang refused because she was working.
Previously, at around 2:20 p.m. on November 23, three young men, including Pham Huu An (28 years old, Dong Ve ward, Thanh Hoa city), Le Van Nhi (41 years old, Xuan Quang commune, Tho Xuan) and Le Trung Dung (34 years old, in Xuan Quang commune, Tho Xuan district) entered Tho Xuan airport to see a friend off on a plane to Ho Chi Minh City.
Not getting their demands met, these three people loudly cursed and slapped Ms. Giang in the face. Seeing the employee being beaten, a female manager who witnessed the incident ran out to stop them and was immediately punched in the head and knocked down by Nhi.
Two security guards Trinh Ngoc Hoan and Vu Quoc Hoan were on duty at the station when they tried to stop them, but Dung snatched their hats and punched them...
The group of young men then continued to scream and make obscene threats, scaring many passengers and staff. The group only stopped when Tho Xuan airport security forces arrived and controlled them.
The leaders of the Northern Airport Authority in Tho Xuan requested to make a record and hand over the file to the Muc Son Police Station (under Tho Xuan District Police) for handling according to their authority. The incident was recorded by a passenger using a phone and posted on social media.
Tho Xuan Airport representative said the group of young people causing trouble appeared to be drunk.
Regarding the incident, this afternoon, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Dinh Viet Son signed a decision to ban Pham Huu An, Le Van Nhi and Le Trung Dung from flying for a period of one year. The reason is that these people had caused public disorder and assaulted aviation staff at Tho Xuan airport yesterday.

In addition, after the flight ban period ends, these people must still comply with mandatory visual inspection for another 12 months. Visual inspection is when aviation security personnel directly use their hands, eyes and other senses to inspect people, vehicles and objects to identify and detect suspicious objects, dangerous items...
According to the authorities, Le Trung Dung - one of the young men who participated in beating the female flight attendant - is the son of the former chairman of the People's Committee of Tho Xuan district who retired in 2015. Another person involved in the incident is Le Van Nhi, also from Xuan Quang commune.
