On April 13th, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the results of the mock exam for the aptitude test. This online test, organized by the university on April 9th, aimed to help candidates familiarize themselves with the structure and format of the 2023 exam.

According to Associate Professor Vu Duy Hai, Deputy Head of the Admissions Office at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the highest proportion of candidates answered 60-70 questions correctly. Among them, three candidates achieved the highest scores with 93 out of 100 correct answers. Notably, four candidates achieved perfect scores in the Mathematical Reasoning section and one candidate achieved a perfect score in the Reading Comprehension section.

Analysis of the results shows that the overall exam is of good quality, highly reliable, and covers all the objectives. The score distribution is bell-shaped with a peak at around 6-6.5 points, indicating a high level of differentiation suitable for university admissions.

Reportedly, the practice test is designed to illustrate the exact structure and content of a real exam, consisting of three parts: Mathematical Thinking, Reading Comprehension, and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving.

The exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions in the Mathematical Thinking section (60 minutes); 20 multiple-choice questions in the Reading Comprehension section (30 minutes); and 40 multiple-choice questions in the Scientific Thinking/Problem-Solving section (60 minutes).

Candidates will complete each section of the exam in turn, within the allotted time, with a total duration of 150 minutes.

The admissions council for the aptitude test announced that it will continue to offer mock tests so that candidates can experience and review the exam at home until the end of April.

“With the announced score distribution, the exam wasn't as difficult as many people thought, because most candidates were able to complete the exam with good scores. With adjustments to the content of this year's exam, the assessment of thinking skills is suitable for many students, so they can confidently use the exam results to apply to their desired universities,” affirmed Associate Professor Tran Trung Kien - Head of Admissions Office, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

According to the plan for organizing the 2023 aptitude test, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will hold the official exam in three sessions on June 10th, June 17th, and July 8th.

The exam is expected to be held in provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, and Da Nang.

From 9:00 AM on April 10th, the exam registration system officially opened and has so far recorded over 10,000 registrations on the homepage (https://tsa.hust.edu.vn).

As of now, more than 30 other universities nationwide will also use the results of this exam for university admissions in 2023.
