(Baonghean.vn) - Throughout his life and revolutionary career, Uncle Ho always cared for and had deep affection for the young generation of Vietnam. The great leader of the nation directly led generations of young people to the revolution, participating in the struggle for national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.

When he began to spread revolutionary ideology to the nation, Uncle Ho chose the youth as the first target - a young force full of patriotism and ready to sacrifice for the revolution. In June 1925, in Guangzhou (China), Nguyen Ai Quoc founded the organization "Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association" and published the Thanh Nien newspaper.

In 1926-1927, Uncle Ho directly opened many training classes, educating more than 200 patriotic Vietnamese youths, then sent them back to the country to build and develop the revolutionary movement, many of whom later became outstanding leaders of our Party.

Realizing the great role of the young generation, right after the success of the August Revolution, on the first day of school, Uncle Ho placed his trust in the young generation: "Whether Vietnam's mountains and rivers become glorious or not, whether the Vietnamese people can step up to the stage of glory to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers or not depends largely on your studies."

On August 17, 1947, in his "Letter to the Youth", Uncle Ho wrote: "Young people are the future masters of the country. Indeed, whether the country is prosperous or declining, weak or strong depends largely on the youth. If the youth want to be worthy masters of the future, they must train their spirit and strength right now, and work to prepare for that future." Visiting the youth volunteer unit building roads during the resistance war against French colonialism, Uncle Ho advised the youth: "Nothing is difficult/ Only fear that the heart is not steadfast/ Digging mountains and filling seas/ With determination, it will be done."

The youth are the future masters of the country, and to be worthy of their role as masters, they must study. Therefore, Uncle Ho paid great attention to the study, cultivation, and training of the youth to improve their qualifications. This is the core issue for the youth generations to equip themselves with understanding and knowledge, one of the prerequisites to ensure that the youth generations can participate in revolutionary activities.

Uncle Ho pointed out: "The main task of young people and students is to study. Study to serve the Fatherland, serve the people, make the people rich and the country strong, that is, to fulfill the duty of the master of the country". And, "Young people will be the masters of the country, must study forever, progress forever, to be truly young".

Despite being busy with a thousand things, Uncle Ho always cared about nurturing the team of young intellectuals, still took time to direct the establishment of the "National Language Propagation Association" to organize the teaching of the national language and create a widespread movement, mobilizing all classes of people, especially generations of young people, to participate in learning the national language; thereby helping the young generation quickly access revolutionary books and newspapers, have enough knowledge to prepare for participating in the revolutionary movement and the cause of national liberation. Uncle advised: "For young intellectuals, we need to ask the question: "Study for what? Study to serve whom?"

During the years when the North of our country entered the period of national construction, building a great rear, all for the front line in the South. In the cause of fighting for national reunification, Uncle Ho emphasized the education and training of the young generation, equipping them with advanced scientific knowledge to become the masters of the country, helping them to master scientific and technological advances, meeting the increasing demands of the revolutionary cause in the new stage of struggle.

Uncle Ho emphasized: “If you do not study hard, you will not progress but only regress. Society is increasingly developing, work is increasingly complex, and machines are increasingly sophisticated. If you do not study, you will fall behind, and falling behind means being eliminated, eliminating yourself.” The writer advised the younger generation to “work hard to improve their political, cultural, scientific, technical and military qualifications so that they can contribute more and more to the Fatherland and the people.”

Along with emphasizing the issue of education for generations of young people, Uncle Ho also paid special attention to educating them in revolutionary ethics. Because without revolutionary ethics, one cannot become a true revolutionary, and cannot serve the people and the country well.

In his speech at the Conference of Cadres in the North (September 1962), Uncle Ho emphasized: "Young people must always practice revolutionary ethics", "Revolutionary ethics can be summarized as follows: Be loyal to the revolutionary cause, to the Party, to the class for life". Particularly for the youth, Uncle Ho added: "Must not be afraid of hardship, not afraid of difficulties, do whatever is needed, have youth, and do whatever is difficult".

Regarding the youth movement, Uncle Ho noted that “it must be continuous and have practical content”, and should not be formalistic, “do not set up vast programs and plans that sound good but cannot be implemented”, but must “be able to say and do”. Uncle Ho believed that “one small program that can be implemented is better than a hundred large programs that cannot be implemented”. “Things that are worth doing, no matter how difficult, must be determined to do them”.

Uncle Ho always encouraged the youth: “You are a heroic generation in a heroic era… Uncle Ho believes that our youth will successfully complete the glorious missions of the victorious volunteer army in the cause of building a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam.”

In the process of national renewal and international integration, our Party still imbues Uncle Ho's teachings on youth work, making "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example" a regular political activity for the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people. Today's generations of young people are aware of their responsibilities and rights and must strive to practice and study to improve all aspects of their qualifications and knowledge, master science and technology, especially cultivate and cultivate revolutionary ethics, become people who are "both red and expert" as Uncle Ho taught, to be worthy of being the masters of the country in the new era.
