Fake Covid treatment doctor resigns after incident exposed
Nguyen Quoc Khiem forged his medical student ID card to apply for admission to the F0 treatment area, claiming to be a doctor at Cho Ray Hospital... but quit his job as soon as the incident was discovered.
On February 23, Khiem, 24 years old, was summoned by Ho Chi Minh City Police for forging a student card from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy to volunteer to support at the Quarantine Area of City Electricity College (District 12), then claimed to be a doctor at Cho Ray Hospital to perform F0 treatment work.
"The investigation agency is working with many individuals and related units to clarify the motive, purpose and consequences of this person's actions," said a source at the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department. In addition, the authorities are also investigating signs of crime in Khiem's case.forging seals and documents of agencies and organizations.

According to the initial investigation, around July 2021, based on the request of the People's Committee of District 12 to send personnel to support the Quarantine Area of the City College of Electricity (District 12), the University of Medicine and Pharmacy set up a chat group for students to register to join and submit a photocopy of their student ID card.
Khiem, who was then in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, searched online for a sample student ID card of this school, edited and cropped his image onto it. Then, Khiem used this fake ID card to register as a volunteer and was selected for District 12.
On August 16, 2021, District 12 Medical Center decided to mobilize and assign Khiem to support epidemic prevention work at the concentrated quarantine area of Ho Chi Minh City College of Electricity with the task of receiving and monitoring the health of F0, F1, concurrently taking on logistics work...
In September 2021, the Ministry of Health's website published an article about "Doctor Nguyen Quoc Khiem" and his contributions when he was assigned to be in charge of the treatment area at the dormitory of Ho Chi Minh City College of Electricity, helping thousands of F0 recover. This "doctor" claimed to be working at Cho Ray Hospital, and said he had helped save a severe case with the medicine in the quarantine area, before the patient was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
In addition, "Doctor Khiem" provided a photo of himself receiving a certificate of merit from the leadership of Cho Ray Hospital.
Police determined that at the end of September, after signs of impersonating a student at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy were exposed, Khiem used personal reasons to resign from his job at the Quarantine Area of the Ho Chi Minh City College of Electricity.
In early October 2021, staff from the District 12 Medical Center called the university to verify information about volunteer Nguyen Quoc Khiem. After searching the database, the school confirmed that Khiem was not a doctor, and the student ID card he used was fake because the school did not have a student named Nguyen Quoc Khiem (born May 12, 1998), class of Medicine 2014.
According to Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc (Director of Cho Ray Hospital), the unit does not have a doctor or intern named Nguyen Quoc Khiem, nor has it ever awarded a certificate of merit to "Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khiem, master, doctor of Cardiology" for "his outstanding achievements in detecting, providing emergency support and treatment to save the life of a patient who was in a state of death at Cho Ray Hospital" as the image spread.
Khiem later admitted to impersonating a doctor, participating in charge of the F0 treatment point in District 12, said he "realized his mistakes", hoped to be forgiven so he could continue his life and currently did nothing related to the medical industry.
Initially, the investigation agency believed that Khiem took advantage of a lapse in checking information when the epidemic in Ho Chi Minh City was seriously breaking out and the authorities were focusing on epidemic prevention, to falsify documents to enter the F0 treatment area. He was accused of receiving money and charity, but denied all of it./.
