Doctor Nguyen Anh Tri retires, the whole hospital is choked with nostalgia
For a long time, we have seen the image of a hospital leader who, upon retirement, left behind such nostalgia and regret for the staff, doctors, and patients as Professor Nguyen Anh Tri.
From October 1, Professor Nguyen Anh Tri, Director of the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, will officially retire.
The above touching images were recorded during the farewell ceremony with all the staff of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion of Professor Nguyen Anh Tri after receiving the decision to retire and cease holding the position of Director of the Institute. Nearly 1,000 people lined up to wave goodbye to him in tears.
For a long time, Professor Nguyen Anh Tri has been honored as the leading doctor in the field of hematology and blood transfusion in Vietnam. In addition to this role, he is also a National Assembly delegate. Previously, in the 2016 National Assembly election, he was the only self-nominated candidate to win.
The reason why he is loved by many people is not only because he is a master of his profession but also because the 60-year-old professor always has special feelings for his patients, being dedicated, compassionate, and tolerant.

On his personal page, Professor Nguyen Anh Tri shared his feelings about the last meeting as Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion: "Friday, September 29, 2017, a memorable day in my life. After more than 30 years as a university lecturer, every time I stand in front of the board to write, draw, or speak, my emotions still rise strangely."
He continued: "The applause was thunderous, the farewell was soaked with tears of longing and love. There were people who spoke fluently but suddenly choked up, people who were usually serious suddenly cried like children, some sobbed, rubbed their heads against my chest, choked up and couldn't say a word... all forms, with many levels. My eyes were also filled with tears these days."
During his 10 years as Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, he and his colleagues have made many innovations that few hospitals have been able to do, such as tripling the number of hospital beds and introducing many new techniques into the treatment of blood cancer. Moreover, he is also a pioneer in changing the way blood donation is promoted, developing the movement extensively with a series of programs such as the Spring Festival, Red Journey, etc.

Before retiring, he also donated blood for the last time in his life at the age of 60. He made everyone admire and respect him even more when not long before that, he mobilized and joined most of the staff, doctors, and employees in the hospital to register to donate organs for medicine. This was the campaign with the largest number of people registering to donate organs ever.
"I love this group! They are colleagues, comrades, students, employees... and they are also people I love and cherish very much. Patients are the ones who have given me passion for my work, success and achievements in my life. They waited for me to shake hands, to say thank you and even to hug me and cry. I love them so much!", Professor Nguyen Anh Tri choked up.
Under Professor Nguyen Anh Tri's post, a Facebook account expressed: "With the professor's passion and talent, he did not stop working even after retirement. This is just a milestone in his life. All patients and colleagues will never forget the wonderful stories about Professor Nguyen Anh Tri."
