U22 Vietnam Doctor: 'Quang Hai does not have multiple injuries'
Doctor Tran Anh Tuan denied the information that midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai is suffering from multiple injuries at the same time. However, the doctor affirmed that he is doing his best to help Quang Hai return soon. If Quang Hai can play, the coaching staff will consider letting him play, not forcing him to play.
"We took Quang Hai for X-rays and tests. The results showed that he had a tear in the long head of his left biceps muscle. The information that he had multiple injuries including a torn muscle, groin muscle damage, and knee cartilage is incorrect," Dr. Tran Anh Tuan confirmed before today's training session.
Quang Hai was injured after a collision with centre-back Irfan in the 18th minute of Vietnam's 1-0 win over Singapore. The following morning, the Vietnamese captain was taken to a hospital in Manila for a check-up. He was absent when Vietnam drew 2-2 with Thailand in the final group stage match of the 30th SEA Games.

"Quang Hai needs to take medicine, combined with physical therapy such as laser electrolysis, and recovery exercises," Mr. Anh Tuan added. "This torn muscle injury needs about 2 weeks to recover. However, we are trying our best so that he can return soon. If Quang Hai can play, the coaching staff will consider letting him on the field, not playing in a forced situation."
In the press conference after the 2-2 draw with Thailand yesterday, coach Park Hang-seo said Quang Hai definitely cannot play in the semi-finals, but if the team reaches the final he still has a chance to play.
Vietnam tops Group B with 13 points after 5 matches. The team will meet Cambodia in the semi-finals on December 7./.
