"As far as I know, Minister of the People's Armed Forces Pak Yong-sik and head of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army Lee Myung-soo have been replaced by Vice Minister of the People's Armed Forces No Gwang Chol and Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lee Yong Gil," — Yonhap news agency said.

In addition, the "number one" position in the DPRK military, head of the political department, Kim Jong Gak, left his post. He was replaced by Kim Su Gil, former chairman of the Pyongyang Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

According to private sources, the military leaders left their posts, because their "rigid way of thinking" did not correspond to the changing situation.
