Northern and Central Vietnam will continue to experience hot weather until May 17th.
Yesterday (May 13th), the heatwave officially returned to the entire North and Central regions. According to the Central Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting Center on May 13th, the heatwave continued to persist over a wide area in the coastal provinces of Central and South Central Vietnam and extended to the entire North Central region with temperatures generally ranging from 35-38 degrees Celsius, and in some places exceeding 39 degrees Celsius.
According to observations at several weather stations on the afternoon of May 13th, temperatures were generally around 36-37 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 37 degrees, such as Muong La (Son La): 37.4 degrees; Do Luong (Nghe An): 37.8 degrees... In Hanoi, the highest temperature recorded was nearly 37 degrees Celsius, with the average temperature remaining around 35 degrees Celsius. Forecasts indicate that on May 14th, widespread heatwave conditions will continue across the coastal provinces of Central Vietnam and extend to the entire Northern region, with daily maximum temperatures generally ranging from 36-39 degrees Celsius, and exceeding 39 degrees Celsius in some areas. The peak of this upcoming heatwave will be concentrated on May 14th and 15th. In the coastal provinces of Northern and Central Vietnam, daily maximum temperatures will uniformly rise above 35 degrees Celsius, with many places exceeding 38 degrees Celsius. This heatwave is forecast to last until May 17th.
