Quynh Lap beach turns into a "garbage dump"
(Baonghean.vn) - Due to limited land, people in the coastal area of Quynh Lap commune (Hoang Mai town) have no place to collect waste, so people dump waste on the beach, even though they know it pollutes the environment.

Tan Minh village, Quynh Lap commune, located close to the beach, has more than 300 households living mainly by fishing. Due to the high population density and the lack of a garbage collection area, people are now turning the beach into a “garbage dump”.
According to our observations, the beach along Tan Minh village is flooded with garbage, especially when the tide rises, all the garbage will be washed from the shore out to sea.
Mr. Pham Van Dong - Head of Tan Minh village said that the villagers often collect garbage on the beach, the reason is because the locality does not have land fund, the collection is not implemented so people have to accept dumping garbage into the sea. Not only Tan Minh village, the two neighboring villages Dong Minh and Dong Thanh also have this situation.

According to research, not only Tan Minh village but also other villages such as Dong Minh and Dong Thanh have the situation of people dumping garbage on the beach.
These 3 villages currently have more than 1,000 households living.Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, a resident of Dong Minh village, said, “We really want the commune to plan a garbage collection site; with the characteristics of the seafaring profession and high population density, the amount of daily waste is relatively large. If this situation continues, it will be extremely polluting to the environment.”
Quynh Lap commune currently has 13 villages, of which 10 villages have established garbage collection teams; only 3 villages Dong Minh, Tan Minh and Dong Thanh do not have garbage collection teams.

When discussing this issue with Mr. Le Ba Van - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Lap commune, Mr. Van said that he would go check and find a solution to this problem.
