Vietnamese Song of June: "A Light Kiss" Wins Big

After "Phai" by Vu Cat Tuong, "Chiec hon pal" by Pham Hai Au became the second song to receive the Song of the Month award of Vietnamese Songs 2015.

On the evening of June 26, the second live show of Vietnamese Songs 2015 took place at Ben Thanh Theater, Ho Chi Minh City. 6 newest songs were introduced. With the main genres being Pop and R&B, the songs in the June live show are expected to easily reach young audiences when released to the market. These include "Leaving" by Vu Ngoc Bich performed by singer Hang BingBoong, "Chan troi" by Tuan Phong performed by Duong Tran Nghia, rapper Ha Le and Phuc Bo or "Love in waiting" by Tran Dung Khanh performed by Dinh Manh Ninh.

Of the three songs above, commenting on "Leaving" by Vu Ngoc Bich, musician Luu Thien Huong said: "Vietnamese songs always emphasize creativity, but the lyrics of this song are a bit entertaining. When coming to Vietnamese songs, I want the songs to meet two factors: professionalism and entertainment. Entertainment but still have to meet a bit of professionalism. I want Ngoc Bich to be more creative with the lyrics."

After giving a gentle comment, the female musician added: "I only have a little comment about the lyrics, otherwise, I like Ngoc Bich's thinking because it is quite civilized". "Civilized" is also the word Luu Thien Huong gave to the song "Chan troi" by Tuan Phong. However, the female musician thinks that the structure of this song is a bit rambling.

Meanwhile, commenting on the song "Love in Waiting" by Tran Dung Khanh, musician Viet Anh said: "Love in Waiting is quite attractive with a very detailed melody. This is an easy song to popularize because it is easy to listen to and sing along. But it lacks highlights to make the song more impressive."

However, the winning song of the Vietnamese Songs of June was a Smooth Jazz song with a bit of Funk - the song Chiec hon la by Pham Hai Au. This song won all 3 awards of the Judging Council, including: Song of the Month, Effective Arranger (for musician Thanh Vuong) and Effective Performer (for singer To Minh Duc). Commenting on the song "Chiec hon la", musician Quoc Trung said very briefly: "This is the song we have been waiting for. It is very youthful".

With the victory in the Song of the Month award, "Chiec hon pet" has secured a ticket to the final night of Vietnamese Song 2015. Composer Pham Hai Au is also the owner of the Song of the Year award of Vietnamese Song 2013.
