Peach blossoms, which appear in spring, are not only beautiful but also possess medicinal properties, used in traditional medicine to treat various ailments.

According to traditional medicine, peach blossoms are neutral in nature, bitter in taste, and enter the liver and stomach meridians. They have the functions of activating blood circulation, promoting diuresis, and relieving constipation. They are used to treat edema, phlegm accumulation, stagnation, difficulty urinating and defecating, and irregular menstruation. This flower is also used to treat measles and chickenpox. However, pregnant women should not use it, as it causes excitement and stimulates the uterus. Peach blossoms dried in the shade, crushed, and drunk hot with a little wine can promote bowel movements, eliminate phlegm, and relieve water retention in the kidneys and bladder, and are effective in treating beriberi (itching due to cold weather).

Peach blossoms cooked with rice, honey, and sugar to make porridge are believed to promote blood circulation and treat constipation and urinary retention.

Equal amounts of dried peach blossoms and apricot blossoms are brewed (with boiling water) to make a decoction. This decoction is used to wash the face, gradually removing dark spots and gray blemishes, and beautifying the skin.

Peach blossoms can be used to wash the face, especially for those with sensitive skin or persistent boils. For example, equal amounts of peach blossoms and salt can be crushed, mixed with vinegar, and applied to the face. Take 10 grams of dried peach blossoms and 15 grams of dried lotus flowers, grind them into a fine powder, divide into three portions, put each portion into a glass cup, and pour boiling water over it like tea.
