Simple and inexpensive remedies for the common cold.
In about 20 minutes, and for less than 10,000 VND a day, you can have a surprisingly effective remedy for the common cold. All you need are kumquats, turmeric, and honey.
This is Professor Bui Quoc Chau's "Yin-Yang Balancing" remedy, introduced in 1979, which has surprised everyone who has used it with its simplicity, safety, affordability, and above all, its effectiveness.
This remedy is prescribed by doctors to treat illnesses caused by heat or cold, such as the common cold, heatstroke, rhinitis, sinusitis, etc.
Recipe:
- Mother-of-pearl turmeric (when peeled, it reveals a dark yellow color): One tuber the size of the patient's big toe. Turmeric has a yang (positive) nature.

- Dosage: Adults: 5 teaspoons at a time (turmeric and kumquat pulp can be eaten). Children: 2-3 teaspoons at a time. Breastfed infants: Mother drinks the mixture and then breastfeeds.
The medicine can be stored in the refrigerator after use. Continue taking it until the symptoms disappear.
According to patients' experiences, typically, by the end of the second day, the illness begins to improve, with symptoms such as sore throat and runny nose starting to subside. In most cases, the patient is much better by the end of the third day. Many children may not show improvement until the fourth day, but after that, the illness subsides very quickly.
Mothers with young children should bring kumquats, turmeric, and honey with them when traveling so they can use them immediately if needed. Hopefully, this remedy will be truly useful for you and your loved ones.
Note:
- For those with colds or who are weak and frail, the dose of kumquat should be reduced to half a fruit.
