But despite that reality, Bruno still has the intention of returning to the ring. "I work out a lot in the gym and that's why I want to return to boxing," he shared on the Morning This Morning program of the station.ITV(Older brother).

When asked if returning to competition was a good idea, Bruno replied: "I have no choice."

The professional boxer since 1982 said he had to work out regularly to burn off excess energy and couldn't stand the feeling of frustration when challenged by younger boxers.

"I can't sit back and let these so-called brokers say Anthony Joshua can knock me out when I'm not even dead yet," Bruno added.

Joshua, 26, is the reigning Commonwealth Games heavyweight champion and WBC belt holder.

However, Bruno later added that his new agent informed him that the British Boxing Board of Control would not approve his application to fight.

In the 1996 WBC heavyweight title fight in Las Vegas, Bruno was knocked out by Mike Tyson after just three rounds.
