Touching essay about Vietnam U23 team by female student of Ly Nhat Quang School
(Baonghean.vn) - I felt very lucky to be able to watch almost the entire 150 minutes of the Vietnam team's match last Saturday night. Three hours took me through the journey to the pinnacle of football with mixed emotions: joy, disappointment and regret, hope and excitement, and then bursting into joy of victory.
These are very real emotions that a 9th grade student from Ly Nhat Quang Secondary School - Do Luong shared in his essay right after Vietnam's victory over the Iraqi team.
The essay topic given by teacher Tran Hong Hanh to students was a very “hot” topic: “Write an essay expressing your feelings about the victory of the Vietnamese team over Iraq on January 20 in the U23 Asian Cup. From there, express your thoughts on the significance of the victory in inspiring and educating about “fighting spirit” and love for the Fatherland”.
Talking about the reason for creating this exam, teacher Tran Hong Hanh shared: "I am a person who loves football very much and the quarter-final match of the Vietnamese team left me with many beautiful emotions and I want to convey those emotions to my students."

The essay topic was given by Ms. Hanh to the students who are currently studying in the Literature enrichment class at Ly Nhat Quang Secondary School. Although the topic was quite “open”, referring to an area that is not the strength of students majoring in Literature, after reading the students’ essays, she was really surprised.
Among them, the most memorable article she shared on Facebook was by student Nguyen Thi Van Quy, class 9B. Ms. Hanh also shared: "Among the articles, Quy's article is not necessarily the best. But this is the article in which Quy fully shared his feelings even though Quy is normally an introvert, quiet and reserved."

With Nghe An Newspaper, let's re-read some impressive passages in Nguyen Thi Van Quy's article:
…It has been nearly ten years since Vietnamese fans have had the opportunity to experience such extreme happiness. This time, it was not against Thailand, but in a different position: One of the four best U23 teams in Asia. Perhaps, like me, no one believed that U23 Vietnam would do something that seemed impossible… A miracle, history, or a spectacular breakthrough. All are true. And even though a day has passed, I am still filled with an indescribable joy. I feel so lucky to be able to watch almost the entire 150 minutes of the Vietnamese team's match on Saturday night. Three hours took me to explore the pinnacle of football with mixed emotions: joy, disappointment and regret, hope and excitement, and then bursting into joy of victory.
…The victory of the U23 Vietnam team has truly delighted more than 90 million people in the homeland. If anyone asks me what the victory of the U23 Vietnam team is thanks to, I can affirm that it is due to the brave fighting spirit. This victory also has great significance in inspiring education about the fighting spirit in life. Our life is like a battle that always moves forward, if anyone does not move forward, they will fall behind and become more and more backward…
The victory of the U23 Vietnam team also inspires and educates love for the Fatherland. Love for the Fatherland will create great strength to make history...
