The Secretariat disciplined and removed Mr. Le Phuoc Thanh from the position of Provincial Party Secretary.
The Secretariat decided to discipline Mr. Le Phuoc Thanh by removing him from the position of Provincial Party Secretary for the 2010-2015 term.
On February 5, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Secretariat held a meeting chaired by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. After considering the proposal of the Central Inspection Commission in Submission No. 96-TTr/UBKTTW, dated January 26, 2018, on the proposal to discipline Mr. Le Phuoc Thanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province for the 2011-2016 term, the Secretariat found that: As the head, Mr. Le Phuoc Thanh was primarily responsible for the violations and shortcomings of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term and the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2011-2016 term (as stated in Notice No. 358-TB/UBKTTW, dated December 28, 2017 of the Central Inspection Commission).

Pursuant to Regulation No. 102-QD/TU of the Politburo on disciplinary action against violating Party members, the Secretariat decided to discipline Mr. Le Phuoc Thanh by removing him from the position of Provincial Party Secretary for the 2010-2015 term./.
