The next night, I took 25 million VND and walked to the border area with Laos to buy drugs. With the money I brought, I bought 20 packages of opium and brought them home to hide.

Early the next morning, this man took drugs to deliver to customers, but was discovered and arrested by the police on the way. The evidence in the case was more than 355 grams of drugs.

At the trial, the defendant admitted to committing the crime as charged in the indictment. During the investigation, the defendant stated that he used the money from selling the cow to trade drugs. The defendant presented his difficult circumstances, with his wife and 7 young children, asking the court to consider reducing his sentence.

The panel of judges determined that the defendant’s actions were dangerous to society, affecting public order and security; and violated the State’s regulations on drug management. The defendant was healthy, fully aware, and knew that drug trafficking was a violation of the law, but still did it for profit. Therefore, the court sentenced Tho Cong Minh to 20 years in prison.
