VFF Executive Committee does not allow Mr. Duc to withdraw

Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc must comply with the organization's regulations and continue to assume the role of VFF Vice President in charge of finance until the end of his seventh term.

Mr. Duc said he is busy with business and wants to withdraw from VFF.

At the VFF Executive Committee meeting on the afternoon of December 1, Mr. Duc spoke, expressing his determination to withdraw, but did not receive consensus. The Executive Committee had to vote to decide. Excluding Mr. Duc, the remaining 21 members all voted for the option of the HAGL Club owner continuing his work.

“Bau Duc accepts to comply with the organization’s decision. He will continue working for the remaining months of his term,” VFF Vice President Nguyen Xuan Gu told VnExpress.

Mr. Duc expressed his wish to resign at the VFF Standing Committee meeting in August. After U23 Vietnam was eliminated from the SEA Games group stage, he submitted a request to withdraw.

“Everyone recognizes Mr. Duc’s contributions and passion for football. Recently, he has been under more pressure because public opinion believes that he has a personal relationship with coach Park Hang-seo, leading to many HAGL players being called up to the national team. I affirm that Mr. Duc’s going to Korea to sign a contract with coach Park Hang-seo is in line with his role as Vice President in charge of finance, not for personal reasons,” Mr. Nguyen Xuan Gu added.

Personnel was the hottest issue at the 11th Executive Committee Meeting of the 7th term. Besides the issue of Mr. Duc, the issue of finding a replacement for the VFF President was also discussed. Mr. Le Hung Dung, due to health problems, wanted to withdraw.
