Indian police have arrested a 60-year-old man for shooting his wife dead at their home in Ghaziabad city.
At about 9:00 p.m. on July 8, Mr. Ashok Kumar (60 years old) returned home drunk and argued with his wife.

Domestic violence has been a growing problem in Indian society for over a decade now. In 2015, reports indicated that a domestic violence incident occurred every four minutes.
The BBC's Geeta Pandey says the situation happens all over the world. However, due to women's resignation, India is considered the country with the highest rate.
According to a government survey, more than 54% of men and 51% of women admitted that men have the habit of beating their wives, neglecting the house, and avoiding taking care of their children./.
