The Southwest Steering Committee considers disciplining many officials.

Up to now, the Southwest Steering Committee has withdrawn and canceled a series of recruitment and salary decisions for a number of individuals.

This afternoon (November 10), Mr. Son Minh Thang - Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Southwestern Steering Committee (SCSC) said that he had organized a meeting to collect collective opinions on handling officials who committed administrative violations under the authority of the SCSC for Mr. Nguyen Van Ut - Chief of Office; Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang - Deputy Head of the Economic Department, former Chief Accountant and Ms. Son Thi Quanh Ni - Treasurer of the Steering Committee for the period 2011-2016.

At the meeting of the staff and leaders of the Southwest Steering Committee, they agreed to impose a disciplinary warning on Mr. Nguyen Van Ut - Chief of Office; and reprimand on Ms. Son Thi Quanh Ni, Treasurer of the Steering Committee for the period 2011-2016.

Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Head of the Economic Department, former Chief Accountant of the collective, is being considered and weighed for disciplinary action. The decision to discipline the individuals who violated the law will be signed by the leaders of the Southwest Steering Committee next week.

Previously, the Central Party Inspection Commission decided to remove from all Party positions Mr. Nguyen Phong Quang, former Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee; give Party warning to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee and Mr. Nguyen Van Ut, Chief of the Steering Committee Office; expel from the Party Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, former Chief of the Steering Committee Office and Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Head of the Economic Department; and reprimand Ms. Son Thi Quanh Ni, Treasurer of the Steering Committee for the period 2011-2016.

Mr. Son Minh Thang said that up to now, the Southwest Steering Committee has withdrawn and canceled a series of decisions on recruitment, salary arrangement, recognition of the end of probationary period and appointment of Deputy Head of the Economic Department for Mr. Vu Minh Hoang; withdrawn and canceled decisions on acceptance, salary increase, and appointment of Deputy Head of the Economic Department for Mr. Nguyen Tien Khoa.

Regarding the handling of violations in recovering financial and property, by November 10, the violating individuals had deposited over 13.7 billion VND into the account of the Southwest Steering Committee temporarily opened at the State Treasury of Can Tho City, out of the total amount of over 130 billion VND that the individuals violated in managing state financial and property.

Regarding the implementation of the project to reorganize the activities of the Steering Committees for the Northwest, Central Highlands, and Southwest in the spirit of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient".

Mr. Son Minh Thang said that he has established a team to implement the project to end the activities of the Steering Committee, firstly reviewing the list of cadres and employees working at the unit, recording the wishes and needs of each individual at work; at the same time creating conditions for individuals to transfer to work in localities or units under central agencies located in the southern provinces./.
