Vinh City Military Command gives gifts to women in Nghi Kim parish

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of December 17, the Women's Union of Vinh City Military Command and the Women's Union of Hamlet 10, Nghi Kim Commune (Vinh City) held a signing ceremony of the twinning agreement between the two units.

Attending the ceremony were Colonel Vuong Kim Hai, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command; Lieutenant Colonel Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Provincial Military Command; leaders of the Vinh City Military Command, Vinh City Women's Union; leaders of Nghi Kim commune, and many female members of the two units.

Representatives of the Women's Union of Vinh City Military Command and the Women's Union of Hamlet 10, Nghi Kim Commune signed a twinning agreement.

At the ceremony, representatives of the Women's Union of Vinh City Military Command and the Women's Union of Hamlet 10, Nghi Kim Commune signed a twinning program. Hamlet 10, Nghi Kim Commune has about 200 households, most of whom live on farming, with more than 85% of the households being parishioners of Phan Thon Parish. The Women's Union of the hamlet has 157 members.

According to the signed program, in the coming time, the women's associations of the two units will strengthen coordination in information exchange activities on the situation of national defense and security and the socio-economic development situation in the locality, share experiences in women's association activities, visit and give gifts to members in difficult circumstances, and encourage members to strive to carry out the emulation movement "Actively study, work creatively, build happy families".

Colonel Vuong Kim Hai, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, presented bicycles to three students with difficult circumstances who overcame difficulties to study well.

On this occasion, Colonel Vuong Kim Hai, Deputy Political Commissar, Lieutenant Colonel Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Chief of Politics and President of the Women's Union of the Provincial Military Command presented 3 bicycles, worth 5 million VND to 3 disadvantaged students who have overcome difficulties to study well, namely Le Van Kiet; Nguyen Thi Ha and Cao Thi Nhung. Lieutenant Colonel Vo Minh Tuan, Political Commissar of the Vinh City Military Command presented a gift worth 2 million VND to the Women's Union of Hamlet 10; presented 6 gifts to 6 women members from families with meritorious services and members in difficult circumstances, each worth 500,000 VND.

This is a practical activity of the Women's Union of Vinh City Military Command in response to the twinning movement "Solidarity and love between Catholics and Catholics" launched by the Women's Union of the Provincial Military Command. Up to now, 5 women's unions of the Provincial Military Command have signed twinning programs with 5 women's unions in religious areas.

Through the twinning program, we have enhanced exchanges, understanding, and encouraged female cadres and members of the armed forces and local female members to unite and strive to fulfill the targets and goals of women's work; given hundreds of gifts, and promptly shared and encouraged female members of the religious areas with difficult circumstances to have more determination to rise up in life and to fulfill the motto "Living a good life, living the gospel in the heart of the nation".
