(Baonghean.vn)- Leader CThe provincial and district police congratulated and rewarded the Que Phong District Police Task Force for their achievement in arresting a subject who was trading 1.5 heroin cakes on May 5.

On the morning of May 8, Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department, along with leaders of the District Party Committee and People's Committee of Que Phong district, came to congratulate and award the Que Phong District Police for their successful achievements in solving the 517C case.

Previously, through verifying information, Que Phong District Police established Project 517C to arrest a number of subjects who regularly crossed the border in Tri Le commune to illegally buy and sell drugs.

At 12:30 on May 5, receiving information that the subjects would conduct drug transactions in Ta Pan village, Tri Le commune, the task force planned to surround and arrest them.

At exactly 2:00 p.m., when the subject entered the ambush point, the detectives rushed in, knocked him down and subdued him, seizing 1.5 heroin cakes weighing 440 grams; 200 synthetic drug pills; 1 motorbike; 22.8 million VND and a knife that the subject always carried with him for self-defense.

At the investigation agency, the suspect declared his name as Ngo Van Cuong (born in 1988, residing in block 8, Kim Son town, Que Phong). Cuong is a long-time addict and has a previous conviction for illegal possession of drugs.

Previously, Que Phong District Police successfully broke two major cases, arrested two suspects, seized 1.5 bricks of heroin, 392 synthetic drug pills and many other exhibits.
