Facebook may have cameras recording you 24/7

Imagine Facebook as a modern city, allowing people to stay in comfortable and free apartments. However, they have to accept that every room is recorded by Facebook cameras 24/7.

Through two hearings before the US Congress, CEO Mark Zuckerberg confessed that Facebook collects all personal data and tracks users even when they are not logged in.

Zuckerberg's confession shocked many Facebook users because for a long time, many of their activities on the world's largest social network had unintentionally "given away personal information" and forced themselves to be tracked.

Facebook follows you like a shadow

During a hearing before the US Senate, when asked by Senator Deb Fischer: "How much data does Facebook store? Does it store everything we click on? Is it stored anywhere else?", Mark replied: "Yes, we store user information, from every click."

Thus, all actions of "liking", "commenting", "sharing" or "self-declaring" content (showing off to friends) about where you are, what you are doing..., including the content of replies to friends on Facebook are also saved in detail.

Personal conversations, family photos, information about travel, work, birthdays, marital status... are all transferred to Facebook servers.

After the Cambridge Analytica scandal, Facebook users were shocked to find that even calls, SMS messages, and conversations on the Messenger app could not escape the social network's 'net'. Many people even discovered that private videos that had never been posted on their personal pages were also included in the data that Facebook stored.

Earlier this morning, during the second hearing before the US Congress, CEO Mark Zuckerberg answered questions from Congressman Engel: "Even when users are not logged into the social network, we still track certain information such as how many websites they visit. This is part of our security measures."

Facebook has collected a huge amount of information from more than 2 billion users worldwide. It was not until the Cambridge Analytica scandal broke that users really learned how their personal information was quietly "poured" into Facebook's servers.

Vietnamese users are "giving away" personal information

Imagine Facebook as a modern city, with smooth transportation and communication, and allowing people to stay in comfortable apartments for free. All activities are free. However, they have to accept that all rooms are recorded by Facebook cameras 24/7.

Facebook uses all those images to understand the needs of each apartment, see what they like, what they need,... thereby allowing advertising agencies to market to the home in the most accurate way.

For Vietnamese users, the awareness of privacy is not high, so it is easy to share everything on social networks. Many people also do not have the habit of checking information before deciding to post on their personal pages. Or it is easy to share phone numbers, addresses or constantly check in,...

Not only that, Vietnamese Facebook users are also willing to accept using third-party applications, such as easily allowing applications to collect their personal data, such as quizzes like "What will you look like in 10 years", "Who were you in your previous life", drawing a beard or wearing ancient costumes...

This action is no different from letting temporary marketing staff into your house to take photos and videos of everything for a long time. The result is that they have their information stolen, are followed, and even have their account passwords hacked,...

It is necessary to consider before posting anything, clicking anything, playing anything on Facebook to limit the leakage of personal information if you still want to continue using the most influential social network on the planet.
