After using money from his part-time job to buy a phone and selling the phone to get money to spend, the young man was afraid that his mother would find out, so he made up a story about being robbed and created a fake scene to report to the police.

At about 6:00 p.m. on September 12, 2025, Cua Lo Ward Police, Nghe An Province received a report from Mr. Ha Hoang Hai N. (born in 2007), currently residing in Dong Loc Commune, Nghe An Province, regarding the following content: At about 5:00 p.m. on the same day, Mr. N. was driving a motorbike in the Golf Course area (Binh Minh Street, My Thang Block, Cua Lo Ward) when a group of strange young men threatened and used force to rob 3.9 million VND and a Realme, C55 mobile phone.

After receiving the report, determining that this was a very serious incident, Cua Lo Ward Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police to deploy forces to check, investigate and extract camera footage of the incident and surrounding areas to investigate and clarify.

However, the process of examining the scene and recording the reporter's statement discovered suspicious signs. After the process of investigating, verifying, screening information and collecting evidence documents, the police force determined that the information reported by N. was not true.

Through the investigation, Cua Lo Ward Police clarified that during the summer vacation, N. worked part-time and earned 3.9 million VND. After that, N. used this money to buy a mobile phone and when he was short of money, N. sold the phone to spend so he had no money to give to his mother. Afraid that his mother would find out, N. thought of being robbed and created a fake scene to report to the police. From the documents and evidence collected by the police, N. admitted to all of his acts of reporting false news.

Currently, the ward police are consolidating the case file to handle N. for intentionally denouncing and reporting false crimes, according to the provisions of the law.

Through this incident, Cua Lo Ward Police advises people to absolutely not report fake news or provide false information to the police, affecting security and order in the locality.
