The Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone, the People's Committee of Nghi Loc district and the VCCI Nghe An - Ha Tinh branch coordinated to hand over 66.8 hectares of land in Area A, Nam Cam Industrial Park to businesses.

Previously, out of 66.8 hectares, 59.9 hectares had completed compensation and support work but people re-encroached and used it for agricultural production; 2.47 hectares of people's land had the compensation and support plan approved by Nghi Loc District People's Committee but had not received money and 4.43 hectares was traffic and irrigation land.

Due to the re-encroachment of production by local people since 2009 and until 2018, businesses do not have land to implement projects. From 2018 to now, the Provincial People's Committee has continuously directed the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board and Nghi Loc District People's Committee to resolve problems and mobilize local people to hand over land.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Diep - Vice Chairman of Nghi Loc District People's Committee said: The process of handing over the land at Area A, Nam Cam Industrial Park encountered many difficulties. Although compensation and support money had been paid, the problem was not resolved thoroughly, so people re-encroached on production.

Up to now, with the strong direction of the Provincial People's Committee and the intermediary and advocacy role of VCCI Nghe An branch as well as the agreement of the land-leasing enterprises to support additional funding, the people have handed over the land. After handing over and placing markers on the field for the enterprises, the District People's Committee assigned the District and Commune Police to have a plan to ensure that the people do not re-encroach; at the same time, it requested the enterprises to have a plan to build fences, promptly implement site leveling and invest in construction according to regulations.

Area A - Nam Cam Industrial Park was planned by the Provincial People's Committee in 2003 with an area of 93.67 hectares and compensation and site clearance were carried out from 2003 to 2009. Of which, 26.87 hectares in Nghi Long commune were leveled and handed over to the enterprise to implement the project; the remaining 66.8 hectares in Nghi Thuan commune have not been leveled and have been re-encroached and used by the people and have only now agreed to hand over the site.
