Handing over houses of compassion to victims of Agent Orange.
(Baonghean.vn) - On August 5th, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Dien Chau district organized the handover of a charitable house to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Tien, Hamlet 9, Dien Xuan commune.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tien, born in 1950, served in the army. Her husband, Mr. Ngo Sy Giao, was a volunteer youth worker during the war against the US. Both were exposed to chemical toxins. Their child was born with the effects of Agent Orange and has since passed away. Mr. Ngo Sy Giao is frequently ill and hospitalized. The family faces many difficulties and has lived for many years in a dilapidated, leaky house.

Given the difficult circumstances of its members, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Dien Chau district provided 40 million VND in support. With the care and assistance of the Party Committee and the government of Dien Xuan commune, the members and their families were able to build a new, spacious house with an area of 58 square meters.
The house was completed and handed over on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the Day for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin. This is the 46th house that the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Dien Chau district has supported with funding for construction.
