Handing over charity houses to poor women

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 18, the Women's Union of Quynh Thach commune (Quynh Luu) held a ceremony to hand over a charity house to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, in branch 6, Quynh Thach commune.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan is a single woman from a poor household. Her husband died early, leaving her to raise three young children alone. For many years, the four of them have had to live in a small house of about 10 square meters that is seriously damaged and degraded.

Responding to the campaign "building a warm home" launched by the superiors, the Women's Union of Quynh Thach commune called on cadres and members to donate 20 million VND to support Ms. Lan's family to build a new house.

Representatives of the Women's Union of Quynh Thach commune presented support money to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan.

After more than 3 months of construction with the help of working days from departments, branches, unions, the front work committee, and the women's association of village 6, the 110 m2 house, designed in the style of a tube house, with a total value of more than 120 million VND, was completed and put into use.

At the handover ceremony, representatives of the Women's Union of Quynh Luu district, commune leaders, organizations and village 6 also presented gifts to Ms. Lan's family.

It is known that from 2010 to now, the Women's Union of Quynh Thach commune has called on cadres, members, businesses and philanthropists to contribute over 184 million VND, 285 working days to build 9 "Shelters of Love", support 3 "Great Solidarity" houses, and repair the Vietnamese Mother Church of Brother Phung Van Thi Tran.

Through the donation and support for poor members and members in difficult circumstances to build "Warm Houses of Love" of the Women's Union of Quynh Thach commune, it has shown the concern and sharing of cadres, women's members in particular and the whole society in general in eliminating dilapidated and temporary houses in Quynh Thach commune in particular and Quynh Luu district in general.
