On the morning of April 27, the first workers of Agricultural Nutrition Company Limited were handed their social insurance books.
Speaking at the handover ceremony of social insurance books, Mr. Le Truong Giang, Director of Social Insurance of Nghe An province said: “This is the first time in more than 20 years that employees have the right to manage their social insurance books. This demonstrates the respect and ownership of employees over their own assets and rights.”

Present at the handover ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Hai Thu could not hide her joy when holding her social insurance book in her hand. Ms. Thu shared that she was very excited to hold the fruits of her own labor. Although the company always promptly resolved the employee's policies, holding the book directly allowed her to check the information promptly and made her feel more secure.
Returning social insurance books to employees is one of the new points of the 2014 amended Social Insurance Law to ensure the rights of employees. Handing over social insurance books to employees for self-management demonstrates transparency of information about the social insurance payment process. Thereby ensuring maximum benefits for employees, while reducing costs and time for businesses.

In Nghe An, according to statistics from the provincial Social Insurance, more than 2,000 social insurance books have been handed over to employees and 90,000 social insurance books are being reviewed.
According to the plan, the implementation of reviewing and handing over social insurance books to employees will be carried out in a rolling manner. The progress of reviewing and handing over social insurance books will be implemented in the fourth quarter of 2017, with a minimum of 30% of the total social insurance books handed over. In 2018, the remaining social insurance books will be handed over and a summary report on the review and handover of social insurance books will be made throughout the province.
